Aromatherapy – Part 1
It is amazing how much scents impact our lives. Certain scents make us remember our childhood or a special moment from our past. They can make us feel calm, cure us and make us smile. But what can certain fragrances (essential oils) do for you?Do you have bronchitits? Try some cedarwood. You can soak in a warm bath with a few drops of cedarwood oil. Or use an oil burner with a cedarwood vaporizing essential oil. Or you can add a few drops of essential oil to a pot of steaming water, put a towel over your head and lean over the pot, breathe in. For even better results blend with Jasmine, Sandlewood or Juniper Do not use if pregnant.
Basel is great for headaches and migraines. You can use it in the bath, with a massage, as a vaporizer, or as a cold or hot compress. Blend with Lavender, Geranium. Not for sensitive skin.
Orange can be used for constipation or as a mild sedative. You can use it as massage, vapors, or in the bath. Blend with Lavender, Juniper, or Ylang Ylang. Don’t take before bedtime.
Cold Sores, Acne and Blisters can be treated with Tea Tree. Use the steam to inhale, massage it, or as a local wash. Blend with Lavender. Can irritate sensitive skin.
Jasmine can be used to help Menstrual pain. Use it as a massage, soak in a bath or a vapor. Blend with Lemon or Rose. Do not take orally.
Circulation or heart can be helped with Nutmeg. Use as a cold compress, with hot steam or as massage. Blend with Clove, Rosemary or Orange. This can be used as often as you would like.
