Diaper Rash Treatment – Home Remedies
Baby can be expensive enough, and when they get diaper rash the first thing we want to do is run to the store and buy something to cure it. What if I said you probably all ready have some home remedies in your kitchen? To help ease the discomfort of diaper rash for your baby, try adding a cup of baking soda to bath water and let them soak.
Use a cotton ball and gently rub Milk of Magnesia over the diaper rash. This will neutralize the acids, and a bottle of this will last longer than a tub of diaper rash cream. Make sure the Milk of Magnesia is dried completely. You want it to help the baby’s bottom, not the diaper.
Using a cotton ball soaked in Witch Hazel, which can be found next to the rubbing alcohol in most stores, rub ove the diaper rash. Let bottom dry before putting on the diaper. This dries quickly.
Witch Hazel – Apply with a cotton ball to help the diaper rash (the bottle of witch hazel in the picture is an old picture…you can find witch hazel with the rubbing alcohol)
If you use cloth diapers, make sure you add a cup of white vinegar to the rinse cycle. Not only will this make the diapers softer, but it will lower the pH level in the cloth, which will help prevent the rash.
