Hair Care – Home Remedies for Dry Hair

Do you have dry hair and/or split ends?  If you don’t want to spend a lot of money to make your hair healthy, soft and smooth or if you don’t have the money for those fancy hair treatments, then read on, because I have some home remedies just for you.Pancake syrup will condition your hair and help get rid of those split ends.  Pour some into your palm and massage into your wet hair.  If you have split ends, make sure you really get that syrup massaged into them.  Put a shower cap on and wait 30 minutes.  Then shampoo and rinse as you normally do.

Hot oil treatments are expensive, but you can make your own in just a matter of seconds for a lot less.  Take 1 Tablespoon honey and 2 teaspoons olive oil and mix in a small microwave safe bowl.  Heat for 5 seconds to warm.  If you want it warmer, you can heat for 5 seconds a few times until you get the desired temperature, just make sure you don’t make it too hot.  Massage the heated honey and oil into your hair.  Take a towel that has been soaking in hot water and wring it out.  Wrap the warm towel around your hair and head.  Leave hair wrapped in towel for 20 minutes.  Shampoo as normal.  You will find you have more body and fullness after using this treatment.

After shampooing as normal, pour about a cup of beer over your hair and let sit for about 5 minutes.  This is another great tip for getting more body and fullness in your hair.

For a great shine, put some Cool Whip on your dry hair, put a shower cap on and wait 30 minutes.  Shampoo and rinse as normal.  The cool whip has coconut and palm kernel oils in it and that is what makes your hair shine.

Massaging butter (not margarine) into your dry hair and wearing a shower cap over your head will moisturize your hair.  After 30 minutes, shampoo and rinse as normal.

To add highlights to brown hair and to remove shampoo film left in hair, do this.  Mix 1/2 cup vinegar and 1 cup of water into a spray bottle, shake gently to mix.  After shampooing and conditioning your hair as normal, spray your hair with this mixture.  Using a large tooth comb, comb through hair to evenly spread mixture.
