Sore Throat Remedies
Sore throats are one of the most painful parts of getting a cold or flu. Here are some simple tips for cures that you can find in your kitchen.Hydrogen Peroxide kills bacteria so gargling with peroxide will help kill the bacteria in your throat that is causing you pain. Make sure you spit the hydrogen peroxide out and do NOT swallow it.
A mixture of 1 Tablespoon horseradish, 1 teaspoon honey, 1 teaspoon ground cloves and 8 ounces of warm water can be drank slow. Make sure you stir this mixture often while drinking. You want to make sure the horseradish doesn’t settle to the bottom. (this is an adult only cure)
Gargle with a mixture of 2 Tablespoon mustard, 1 Tablespoon salt, 1 Tablespoon honey, 2 teaspoons lemon juice and 1/2 cup of boiling water. Let the mixture cool before gargling.
If you want something to loosen the phlegm why not gargle with a coke. The carbonation in the soda is what loosens the phlegm.
A tastier sore throat remedy would be Aunt Jemima Original Syrup. Swallow 2 teaspoon of syrup to soothe the sore throat.
Prevent a sore throat from getting worse by mixing 1 teaspoon vinegar in 1 cup warm water and gargling. This time you will want to swish the mixture in your mouth and then swallow it.
Sore throats are caused by the lack of moisture in your throat. Drinking a lot of Gatorade will help replenish your body of lost fluids which will help your throat stay moisturized.
Another sore throat remedy for adults is to mix 4 Tablespoons whiskey and 4 Tablespoons honey and warm slowly in the microwave. Gargle, swish and swallow.
BenGay can be rubbed on your neck to help with the discomfort of a sore throat.
Hershey’s Syrup can soothe a sore throat. Swallow 2 teaspoons of syrup. This will coat your throat and help soothe it.
